NOTABLE UNRESOLVED CONFLICT: Alabama Code Section 45-6-70.01 (Act 2000-149) states the Bullock County Probate Judge "shall serve as chair" of the commission. BUT the county's own official site unambiguously lists Alonza Ellis Jr. (chairman since Nov. 2018, former District 4 commissioner 2008-2018) as Chairman — a DIFFERENT person from current Probate Judge James E. Tatum (sworn in for a 3rd term Jan. 2025). No repeal or amendment of the statute was found, and no explanation for the discrepancy — reported as an open, source-conflicting anomaly rather than resolved either way.
