County Executive & County Board

County Executive: Sam Kaufman (won a June 7, 2022 special election after the death of long-time exec Allen Buechel; Kaufman previously served as County Board Chairman before moving to the executive seat — a real leadership-transition trap, since stale search results and social media still associate him with the old chairmanship). Board Chairperson: Steven A. Abel (District 11), a different, current person. First Vice Chair: Martin S. Ryan (District 23).
