County Judge/Executive: Paul Hays — independently confirmed real leadership transition: sworn in May 25, 2026 after Governor Andy Beshear's appointment, following Shane Gabbard's April 24, 2026 resignation (Gabbard had served since January 2015) and a brief temporary appointment of Magistrate Dale Vaughn to bridge the gap. Magistrates: Danny Todd, Garvin Baker, Dale Vaughn.
