Chairman, County Commission
NOT ex officio — CONFLICT RESOLVED against the ALPJA 15-county ex-officio list, which names Lauderdale. Direct verification against the county's own site contradicts this: Chairman Danny Pettus is a DIFFERENT person from Probate Judge Sara Holmes, and the county's own page describes the Chairman as representing "the entire County" and voting "only in the event of a tie" — language describing a distinct at-large elected seat, not an ex-officio judicial role. Trusted the county's own primary source over the generic list. Roster: Brad Black & Roger Garner (District 1/East), Joe Hackworth & Todd Nix (District 2/West).

Other Local Government Here

Local government is layered — cities, counties, school districts, and special districts are separate, overlapping governments. Most residents are covered by several at once, and more may exist here than are listed below.

Other Known Local Governments Here

These local governments — special-purpose districts, and smaller incorporated cities and towns — are known to exist in this area, but haven’t been individually researched yet, so there’s no meeting info or contacts on file. Listed here as a starting point if you want to look into one yourself; where we could confirm an official website, the name links there. More may exist here than are listed.
