Local Government in Idaho

Idaho doesn’t have county-by-county Local Wiki records yet. Here’s a general orientation to how local government works there, and where to look for more.

Each of Idaho's 44 counties is governed by a three-member elected Board of County Commissioners that acts as both the legislative and executive branch — setting policy, adopting the budget, and overseeing administration. For a public meeting or records request, contact the county commissioners' office or the county clerk, who serves as the board's official record-keeper.
