Local Government in Washington
Washington doesn’t have county-by-county Local Wiki records yet. Here’s a general orientation to how local government works there, and where to look for more.
The state constitution makes the elected county commission the default: a small board holding both legislative and executive power, used by most of Washington's 39 counties. Seven counties have adopted home-rule charters splitting power between an elected county council and a separately elected county executive instead (e.g. King, Pierce, Snohomish, Whatcom). Either way, contact the county commission or council for public meetings and the county auditor or clerk for records requests.
