Mayor/CEO & Unified Government Commission

Unified Government of Wyandotte County and Kansas City, Kansas (consolidated city-county government since 1997) — the only county in Kansas with this structure. Governed by an elected Mayor/CEO and an 11-member Board of Commissioners (8 district-elected + 2 at-large). Mayor/CEO: Christal Watson, sworn in December 15, 2025 as the first Black woman to hold the office (succeeded Tyrone Garner).
